Smartphone Face Off – Droid Vs iPhone
Friday September 03rd 2010, 4:17 pm

If there is an application or software in the smart phone announcing that It can do everything, a smart phone will say that it can do anything which is impossible to phone. Now the faceoff of the smart phones is becoming hotter and hotter, what is your final choice?

It is seemed that the iPhone is an artwork only to be collected, but the camera which is only with 2MP is a little useless. Android platform is supported by the strong Google, but it does not have the App Store and thousands of absorbing applications. The RIM BlackBerry is always hot, however, it looks a little ugly. Do you like to use the Windows Mobile Phone when you have seen the Microsoft windows mark for many years?

So the first problem is not without smart phone, but you don’t know which one should be purchased.

The battle between Droid and iPhone is very interesting. Based on the Android platform, Droid is very strong. But it will never defeat iPhone in a short time because the latter has become the super star in the area of smart phone. If the Droid wants to defeat the iPhone, it has to take a long-term strategy, but not a fancy commercial. The market share of electronic products is decided by the use habit of users. For example, the Mac is so beautiful that it is seemed as the Venus goddess, and the spending on ads is about ten times than Microsoft Windows. But it is known that there is never a flood of people rushing towards Mac.

Now is about one week away from the release of the Verizon Droid, we do know that the commercials promise a real keyboard, night shots, open development platform, widgets(I don’t think that it’s better than App Store),customization and interchangeable batteries. Here are some specs from other IT websites:

1. The slideout QWERTY keyboard doesn’t mean a big phone, the Droid is only slightly thicker than the iPhone 3Gs.

2. A very big display, though no dimensions were given.

3. Runs Android 2.0 and will probably be the fastest Android smart phone yet.

4. Comes with a desktop charger.

It is said that the Droid will have a pretty 5MP camera.

Besides, Droid will have the better Internet experience. In order to catch up to the advance of its competitors, iPhone will plan to add the AJAX and Flash technology into it.

Droid vs iPhone: without App!

Droid can’t provide so much applications and a huge App Store just like Apple. But now more and more new applications and games based on the Android platform have become popular.

Droid vs iPhone: choose your favorite!

Choose your favorite smart phone, although Droid has the better performance, it will still need more software and application to support it. iPhone is so strong, but maybe you will need an additional Mac.

Droid vs iPhone: users have the option!

No doubt, the iPhone is pushing the market towards more high-featured devices like the Verizon Droid. The originality and strength make the iPhone become the absolutely winner of this battle. If others want to defeat it, they have to have the better software and hardware than iPhone.

Golf GPS Apps For Android

OK, so you have a fancy touchscreen Smartphone with the Android operating system (perhaps a Verizon Droid or even a brand new Nexus One from Google), and you want to spice it up with a compatible golf GPS. Maybe you’re already familiar with GolfShot, GolfLogix, and some of the other popular golf GPS apps available for the iPhone and BlackBerry Smartphones, and now you’re wondering what the choices are for Android. The number of apps in the Android market may be kind of puny compared to the huge number of apps available for the iPhone. But there are Android golf GPS apps available. The following list of five top-notch products is a start.

GolfCard was selected by both CNN and Time magazine as the best iPhone golf app for father’s day (2009). Now it’s available for Android phones; both Sprint and Verizon have recently featured GolfCard in their new phone ads. It looks promising, and should probably be more popular than it already is. This inexpensive rangefinder has a database of 28,000 courses, a scorecard for multiple players, statistical analysis, and no subscription fees.

GreenFinder, which is a popular GPS app that also works on Blackberry, iPhone, and Windows Mobile phones, can be downloaded and used five times for free. It gives you distances to the front, center, and back of the green, as well as distances to fairway hazards and the distance of your last shot. It costs less than a round of golf and there are no additional fees: you can download all the courses you need and you can even mark your own courses.

FreeCaddie also works on Blackberry, iPhone, Windows Mobile, and Java enabled phones. The free version displays only the distances to the front, center, and back of greens. If you want the really good stuff like distances to bunkers and hazards, a shot distance function, the ability to map your own points, or statistics and scorekeeping, then you need to upgrade to FreeCaddie Pro.

Pocket Caddy from Satsports has 3D flyovers of the entire course and individual holes, distances to the front, center, and back of the green and other points of interest. It also has shot recording, statistical analysis and and a scorecard. With Pocket Caddy you can get a map of your home course included with purchase, or you can easily map courses yourself using Google Earth.

SkyDroid (which is practically free) has distances to the front, center and back of every green on the course, as well as distances to water hazards, bunkers, and other course features. It also has a satellite map view of every hole. You can track the distance of your last shot, download all the courses you want for no extra cost, and you can even use SkyDroid’s Course Mapper to easily map your own courses.

Philip Hoskins is a golf enthusiast who has a keen interest in technological gadgets (like golf gps devices) that can improve his golf game. You can find out more about the various golf gps devices on the market by visiting his website at http://www.gpsgolfware.com.

Reverse Mobile Directory Reviews – Which One Is Good?

Most people when they go looking for a reverse phone service, they try to pick one that is the cheapest but also going to give them as much information as possible about the number. The problem with this is that most companies that are cheap, tend to have cheap directories. This means that their site may be outdated or they do not contain cell phone numbers in their directory. So today, we are going to share with you some easy ways to find a reliable directory.

The very first thing that you want to do when choosing a directory is to be sure that the site has been updated within the last year. Without this, all the information that you will be receiving will be out of date and not worth anything. So before you go any further, always look for the year it was updated.

Next, you always want to make sure that the company provides you with customer service. There is no worse situation then when you sign up for a directory that doesn’t provide a service. This will help you if you have any questions about what type f information you will be receiving.

The last thing that we want to point out is each directory must contain cell phone number information. More than 5 billions people own cell phones, therefore, you need a directory that contains this information.

So take the time to find a reliable service and you will get to find out who called your phone.

Check out this Reverse Phone Lookup. You can easily find what you are looking for at http://cellphonenumberreverse.org

If you mastered the Android games and apps already on the device then you are ready to branch out to you browser based Apps like Facebook and Twitter. This is fairly easy as both have mobile optimized web sites.

Of course, if you really want to 1-Up your friends and colleagues then go for some third-party Android apps and games which you can get on the device by accessing the app market and checking out one of many third party app retail sites.

HTC Desire Black
Sunday August 29th 2010, 8:51 am

The new HTC Desire is now available in a new black casing alongside the original brown model, the HTC Desire Black edition takes the same great features, technology and design found in the original handset and encases them in a new, sleek black finish.

One of the most sought after mobile phones on the market, the Desire is proving a problem for many networks and retailers with demand outstripping supply. This is proving to make the new Black HTC Desire even more popular with consumers wanting a little bit of exclusivity.

The main features of this latest HTC phone include a 3.7 inch AMOLED touch screen, 5.0 mega pixel camera, a fast 1GHz processor and the very latest Android 2.1 operating system.

Being an Android phone the Desire grants access to over 30,000 new applications and games to download at super fast speeds over 3.5G with HSDPA technology, there is also WiFi and GPS built in for wireless connections and satellite navigation.

The main rival to the HTC Desire is the latest Google phone; the Nexus One. This new handset dubbed the ‘Super’ phone by Google is actually manufactured by HTC for the search engine giant and in our honest opinion falls short in terms of features when compared to their own Desire model.

The Nexus One opts for the older style trackball for physical navigation of its menu system, however this is not overly needed as multi touch screen technology means that the user can access everything via the main screen.

The HTC Desire replaces the trackball with an optical trackpad which allows you to simply swipe your finger across rather like an optical mouse. The Nexus One also does not support Flash 10.1 out of the box whereas the Desire does and HTC’s own handset runs the Sense user interface which many claim to be one of the best on the market.

The Black HTC Desire is a network exclusive handset on the Orange network, this means that for a limited time period consumers will only be able to connect this latest Android phone to Orange contract deals. After this initial exclusive period has ended other network operators will be able to pick up the new black edition Android phone and we suspect that it will emerge as a SIM Free device very soon as well.

HTC have had a busy year so far launching a number of new models including the recently released HTC Legend which runs on the same Android 2.1 OS but slims down the dimensions of the Desire and offers a 3.2 inch touch screen – it is actually the upgrade for the previous Hero handset.

More recently, the manufacturer has made available their new HTC HD Mini phone which is a more compact version of the extremely popular HTC HD2, both are Windows powered devices but the new HD Mini sheds weight and mass to offer a 3.2 inch touch screen over the massive 4.3 inch of the HD2 making for a more pocket friendly device.

There is also a new silver edition HTC Desire on its way although there are no confirmed release dates as yet.

The HTC Desire and new Black HTC Desire are two of many new handset s from the manufacturer to be launched this year.

Where to Buy the New Motorola Android 2.0 Phone

With Motorola’s new Android 2.0 smart-phone, the company has finally created its most compelling and intriguing piece of android phone yet. Forging an alliance from Google and Verizon, Motorola has finally come up with yet another compelling reason to bring phone makers deep down, while the newly formed alliance with the two giants have seemingly found a notable and worthy device to rely and rival on against Apple’s smart-phone.

Where to buy the new Motorola droid phone is not really that hard to answer. The market is full of new gadgets where you can find Motorola’s droid phone. And since the phone represents Motorola’s best smart-phone to date, finding them there is not really a hefty task.

The phone’s basic construction is divided into two main pieces, the elongated keyboard which also functions as its main board, and its large touch screen display that is situated on top. The upper portion of the phone is constructively dominated by its 3.7 inch display, nearly covering the phone’s edges, though four different functional capacitive situated at the bottom of its display can also be seen. The phone’s upper section also slides smoothly outward revealing its QWERTY keypad. The keyboard is obviously a wide affair, built with a super minimal spacing between keys. The uniqueness of its keyboard lies in its 5-way rocker keyboard and its bizarre deviation from its CLIQ’s left-side. On top of the phone is 3.5mm headphone jack and sleep button.

Are you still clueless where to buy the new Motorola droid phone? Why not check the company’s website for local listing.
